As many of you don’t know, I have been actively pursuing my personal trainer certification for the past year. I have kept it pretty quiet. Mainly because I was afraid with everything going on that I might fail or even worse not take the test. Why don’t I give myself credit? As the last few weeks of this pregnancy wind down, I am happy to confirm that I have passed the last piece of the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Certified Personal Trainer Exam. I look forward to sharing with you in a future post my strategy for preparing, while also updating you on how I plan to use it! For now, I am going to spend the remainder of this pregnancy focusing on family.
I was back at the doctor Wednesday for my 32/33 week prenatal checkup. Due to scheduling, I had to bring my daughter with me. I don’t know why I was so stressed about this situation. The nurses and front desk receptionists made sure that she was kept busy. In fact, I even caught her checking out what they were doing. It almost looks like she is wondering what she can help with.
Here is the gist of how the appointment went. My blood pressure was 110/51. Pulse 68. Baby’s heart rate 155. This is interesting to me. The baby’s heart rate has fluctuated from 137-140 (at my morning appointments) to as high as 155 in the afternoon. The doctor said this is normal and what they like to see. They do not want the baby’s heart rate to be the same at every visit. Good news to me. As far as measurements, baby is still on track. I’m all set for another visit in two weeks! In the mean time, I am cleared to continue my normal activities (including riding and teaching).
That said, I was excited to jump on the bike as a rider Thursday morning for a class with Zach. It has been a long time since I was able to get into one of his classes. I was blown away. His energy and music were just what I needed to blow out a great workout and sweat out any frustration and stress that I have experienced in the past few weeks. I hate that I didn’t grab a picture after class, but above is a sample of music from one of his recent classes. Definitely worth checking out!
All good things come with a short break – It is official. My last class before baby D 2.0 gets here is scheduled for Sunday, February 22nd at 7:30 AM. While I will still be riding in classes, I would like my departure to be a sendoff rather than an unexpected disappearance. I will be back after this pregnancy, and I will be rocking come the 22nd for that last class. That leaves me with 5 classes on the schedule. Book your bikes!!
