Size of Baby (per “What To Expect”) – Size of a small cabbage. Approximately 3 pounds.
Weight Gain – 19 pounds. About a pound a week a this point.
Movement – That movement that was isolated to my hips has since moved more to my right side. I am hoping that this is a sign that the baby is attempting to position itself better for eventual delivery.
Sleep – We are all sleeping better. My daughter made it several nights in a row without waking up during the night. The nights that she did wake up, she talked herself back to sleep. Yes. We literally listened to her chat away until she eventually fell back asleep. It’s progress.
What I miss – I will say it once. I will say it again. A strong cocktail. During my last pregnancy, I couldn’t wait to have a large glass of a very dry, bold Cabernet with a medium rare steak. This pregnancy, I can’t wait to have a sip of a strong whiskey drink. Weird, I know.
Best Moments this Week – Shout out to the Charlotte weather. We were able to spend ALOT of time outside. Saturday and Sunday, we took a family walk and/or spent time at the park. Everyone needs a little sunshine to feel better about the day.
Finally, my husband and I squeezed in a date night over the weekend. As tired as I am by dinner, I truly value any alone time that I can get with my husband. Since having a child, I have learned to love this man in a way that I didn’t think was possible. Sappy I know, but I don’t know what I would do without his help.
We ended up taking advantage of Queens Feast Charlotte (better known as “Restaurant Week). The deal is a three course meal for $30. We ended up checking out Fahrenheit – a fairly new restaurant located on the roof of the Hyatt Place building uptown. The main attraction is the view, but the food is hard to beat. I got the salmon (see above). It was incredible. We will be back!
Looking forward to – My next doctor’s appointment. This will probably be an ongoing theme for the rest of my updates. I go back tomorrow for my 30 week appointment. Technically, my appointments are about a week behind. I am actually 31 weeks on Wednesday. Who is counting though? My daughter also goes back for her 15 month appointment on Tuesday.
Cravings – Did you see my comment about the whiskey drink up top?
Symptoms – Growing belly. It keeps getting bigger and bigger. Any other symptom is minor in comparison.
Workouts – I have one final surge of major subbing at Flywheel Charlotte before I cut back to strictly teaching my classes before eventually fading off the schedule until after the baby gets here. As for now, I am still able to talk through (and do) what I am teaching, so my doctor doesn’t see any reason why I need to stop. I am all over the schedule this week. Check it out!
