Pregnancy Update – Week 28

Size of Baby (per “What To Expect”) – Size of a cucumber. Approximately 2.5 pounds.

Weight Gain – 17 pounds. I definitely indulged during the week between Christmas and New Years.

Movement – Movement is much lower in my belly than my last pregnancy.  I feel most of the movement in my pelvis and hips.  During my prior pregnancy, most of the movement was against my right rib cage.

Sleep –  I miss it.  ALOT.  It could be worse though.  This is how life will be the next couple years (or the rest of my life).

What I miss – Running.  Since I was out of town with no bike, I attempted to do some runs on the treadmill and outdoors.  They did not go well.  After a mile, I found myself forced to walk.  The way that the baby is positioned makes running very tough on my hips and back.  I hate walking by everyone who isn’t pregnant running.

Best Moments this Week – A special New Years trip.  See my post about our trip to the Greenbrier.  Just a few of the highlights.

Looking forward to – My next doctor’s appointment.  I go back to the doctor for my 28 week/glucose test Thursday.  Last pregnancy, my glucose number was 70.  Typically the doctor wants you below 140.  I will report back.  After this visit, I will start going to the doctor every two weeks.  Time is ticking away!10616237_778425202230252_4014776690758177557_n

With very little time before baby number two gets here, we have decided to move my daughter into a big girl bed over the next few weeks.  I have started the process of planning/ordering furniture for her new room.  We picked a twin bed exactly like the one above (not both) from High Cotton Home.  Clearly we will need rails, and we ordered a lower box spring, but everything else (including the bedding) will look as is.  Not too girly, but so cute.  Can’t wait to get this into her new room!

Cravings – Sweets.  Did you see the plate of treats that I indulged in at the Greenbrier every afternoon? Take it away.  Throw it in the garbage.  Do something to stop me from digging in!

Symptoms – I think (I mean, I KNOW) my belly grew a lot this week.  Symptoms are still the same (bleeding gums, congestion, fatigue), but I have officially reached the point in my mind where “I don’t think I can get any bigger.”  Then I do.  I remember thinking the same thing with my first child about this time.  I have a lot of growing still to do.


Workouts – Being on the road, forced me to adjust my regular workout routine.  I did manage to fit in exercise when I could though.

Monday – Tracy Anderson Pregnancy DVD.

Tuesday – Walk/Run on Treadmill.  Pool Time with my daughter.

Wednesday – Walk/Run on Treadmill.  Pool Time with my daughter.

Thursday – Day off. Travel Day.  New Years Day.  4.5 hours in the car with a child that didn’t sleep.  Enough said.  I needed rest.

Friday – Tracy Anderson Pregnancy DVD.

Saturday – Walk/Run around the neighborhood.  The weather was warm in Charlotte this weekend!
