This week my riders at Flywheel have given me so much amazing feedback (actually right when I needed it). One of the reasons that I started blogging was to help others going through the same daily life stresses to find ways to make fitness work. Although I spend a lot of time putting my posts and rides together, sometimes I don’t get much feedback (which is totally fine!). This week the comments came flooding in.
After my 7:30 PM class on Tuesday, I met not one, but two women who are also working out through their pregnancies. They introduced themselves to me after class and one even complimented my blog. Thank you for reading, and most importantly, thank you for riding and taking the time to introduce yourself. I love bonding over common ground. Torq boards were loaded in both of my classes this week.
After chatting with my new pregnant riders Tuesday night, I was excited about seeing my Sunday group. I got to the studio about a half hour early to get everything set up and catch up with anyone that I hadn’t seen in awhile. I was so excited to be greeted by two of my regular riders. We talked a lot about my desire to continue teaching (i.e. how long I thought I would make it). They encouraged me to continue to teach as long as I wanted to. Wow. Really? I am always so concerned that people are looking at me like that crazy pregnant lady. Would they really listen if I got to be a certain size? They reassured me that I had not lost my game and supported me 100%. THANK YOU. See playlist above.
My family and I grabbed breakfast after my class and headed home. I played with my daughter for several hours. Get this. My neighbor sold us her double jogger this weekend. I knew that the time would come when I would need to upgrade from the single to the double. The timing worked out perfect. My daughter tested out her new ride (sans new baby). Can you believe we will have another one in there in a few months?
I have to admit, I was craving chocolate cake last night. I curbed that craving today. I bought a box (that’s right a box mix) of Pillsbury Devil’s Food cake mix. If I am going to eat this stuff, I want to try to avoid extra fat, cholesterol and calories where I can. To do so, I swapped out several ingredients and it tasted the SAME!
- Instead of 1/2 cup of oil, use 4 oz or 1/2 cup apple sauce (I just used some of my daughters!)
- instead of 3 eggs, use 1 1/4 cups of egg whites
- Use 1 cup of water as instructed
Mix the ingredients above with the mix. Let cool. Where is the icing? I didn’t put icing on them, because I can now use whatever topping I want. I’m thinking that I will heat these bad boys up and throw a scoop of ice cream on top!
