Weekend workouts + “Cheat” Day

Well,  my skin got this year’s first taste of tan lines after a perfect weekend of weather in Charlotte. My daughter and I started our weekend off with a stop at the Farmer’s Market.  This time my dad was not there to carry her around, so I managed to do our shopping with her in the Baby Bjorn.  Yet another great exercise.  Tis the season for amazing fruit salads.

photo 1-16Yes, this is all fresh fruit from the Farmer’s Market.  I got my bill under $40 this trip.  Again, the hardest part about making this perfect treat is cutting it up.  It will last for days.

For those of you who were waiting to find out how my husband’s Mud Run went:  His team got second overall.  Another F3 team won the entire event.  Great work by all of the teams competing. F3 had an extremely large group run this year (see picture below).

My husband was back from his race just in time for me to sneak out of the house to teach my afternoon Flywheel classes. This week was the last week of March Madness for my 2:45 class. We had two winners – Amy Seitlin and Allyson Bouldon.  We do have a photo coming that I can’t wait to share with you.  I am so proud of the fitness goals that these ladies have reached in such a short amount of time.

After two classes Saturday afternoon, I was ready to eat.  Lucky for us, my Uncle Jeff and Aunt Norris were in town watching their son play basketball and wanted to treat us to dinner (not really my uncle and aunt, but close enough!)  My daughter absolutely loved Norris.  No problem with strangers here!

That brings me to Sunday!  Whoa, productive.  Awesome 7:30 AM class.  Energy was intense for so early.  I am loving that there is a barre class at the same time.  Following breakfast, we drove directly to Lowes.  All of those bags pictured above are mulch.  We loaded the car with mulch and flowers.  The reason why I posted the picture of the bags of mulch is because I wanted you to see how easy it is to make this your physical activity for the day.  This is a workout in itself.

After almost two hours of yard work, we had worked up an appetite.  I had an errand to run about a mile from our house, so sticking with that healthy lifestyle, we decided that we would walk as a family to run my errand and pick up lunch while we are out.  There is no need to drive on such an amazing day!

photo 3-10Good thing we walked.  It’s cheat day!  If you haven’t tried J.J.’s Red Hots, let me be the first to tell you that they have the best french fries in Charlotte.  Every once in a while I just need a good hot dog (which is fine, because today is my cheat day).  Part of living a healthy lifestyle is not depriving yourself all of the time.  Check back tomorrow for pictures from our Sunday dinner (as if we could be hungry from that lunch!)
